The application for the WAAW Foundation Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Bursary for the academic year 2021/2022 is now open by WAAW Foundation for all South Africans in South Africa.
The WAAW Foundation hereby invites all outstanding students to apply for the 2021/2022 Bursary. It is meant for students that intend to, or are currently studying towards degree and diploma programmes that are aligned to the following listed below:
- Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)

WAAW FOUNDATION STEM BURSARY APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY
Eligibility: You need to fit all the criteria to apply for the scholarship;
- A Female students of African origin living in Africa
- Must be less than 32 years, have gained Undergraduate
- Confirmed admission to a higher education institution in Africa studying your first undergraduate degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field.
- Can demonstrate financial need for the scholarship
- Excellent academic record
- Volunteering and community service.
- Special consideration is given to underprivileged students such as orphans, girls impacted by HIV or students in their first or second year of study.
Accepted courses are: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)-related courses at any African university;
- All fields of Engineering
- All computer science
- Science & Mathematics related fields; Industrial chemistry, environmental sciences
- Medical courses; Pharmacy / Biomedical, Biochemistry, Zoology
- Agriculture, Geography, and Statistics etc
Non-accepted courses:
- CORE MEDICAL COURSE like Medicine and Surgery, Nursing etc
- Social Science courses
- Art courses.

How to apply:
- Kindly visit the WAAW Foundation Bursary application portal and fill in the required details as well as documents.
If eligible, fill out all fields completely. Please ensure you fill in your CORRECT Email address. Note that only shortlisted candidate will be contacted.

This form cannot be edited once submitted. Ensure that all information is accurate before you submit.
*Please note that WAAW Foundation does not fund graduate (Masters, MBA or PhD) programs, second or subsequent degrees, students older than 32 years, non-STEM focused courses or Diploma degrees.
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS
- Completed applications need to be submitted on or before 15/10/2021.
